The 1'st Annual Md.Del. DC. Elks Asso. Fishing Rodeo

The 1'st Annual Md.Del. DC. Elks Asso. Fishing Rodeo is now history. I'm here to say it was a huge success. We had over 40 Elks that participated from all regions. The farthest from Oakland and the closest form Deale. Although they did not capture the big prize 16
"Skirts" did perform well and if I'm not mistaken did come in with the 2'nd most fish.
Past State President Priscilla's sister Martha managed to snag the very coveted
"Master Baiter's" award. She was very deserving. I must say I was equally proud when our boat , "Hook Mash" popped the 1'st Silver Bullet @ 0630. Attached is a pic form the "Loosen Up" boat.
Aboard was the Havre De Grace group and stow away Charlie Spadone.If any of you guys have some pics of the trip ,please forward them to me. Especially the "Skirt" boat.
There were some very candid shots  I am not to embarrassed to share. Priscilla had mentioned also about getting them in the Oct. news letter or Elk national mag.
We did have a 50/50 raffle for the Jernick Fund, as well as, Camp Barrett. we will present this at the Oct. workshop.
I want to send out a special thanks for the 1'st class job Deale Lodge did. The food and crabs were great. The participation was well received. A special thanks to Kenny Chase and his crew at the ' Elk Back Bar".If some of you have never visited do yourself a favor and pop in on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. I spent a week there Friday night, Hooty hoot.
The ladies said they all want to do it again next year with the same crew, and I promised them this will be an annual event.
If there is any interest in the Fall or Winter fishing in Va. Beach , let me know we can make it happen.
It can't say enough of the fellowship and fun this event was. It will be bigger next year.

Maryland Delaware and District of Columbia State Elks Associations Holds State Soccer Shoot

Saturday, November 10, 2007 the MD-DE-DC Elks Association held its State Soccer Shoot in Ocean City MD and the West District and Hagerstown Lodge #378 did real well.  The following ate the results:

 Boys Under 8 Thomas Forrest finished 3^rd in the State
Boys Under 10 Alex Lund got 4^th by default due to him being sick with the flu.
Boys Under 12 Brendon Burkholder finished 2^nd in the State
Boys Under 14 Conner Troxell finished 1^st in the State.

 Girls Under 8 Natalie Jack finished 1^st in the State
Girls Under 10 Molly Stewart finished 3^rd in the State
Girls Under 12 Paige Owens finished 2^nd in the State

Congratulations to Broadneck Lodge #2608, winners of the spring Horseshoe Tournament held a Laurel Lodge#2283. The winning team of Lewis Adkins and Paul Persinger retired undefeated, and the runners-up were from Frederick Lodge#684.
