Elks Camp
Barrett is looking for qualified and diverse staff from all
over the country. Last year's international staff came to us
from Ireland, Spain, Finland, Holland, Hungary, Romainia,
Belarus, Zambia, Australia, New Zealand, Croatia, Russia,
Columbia and Korea. "Local" staff members hailed from
Maryland, Pennsylvainia and Virginia.
We hire
12 male and 12 female counselors each summer. When we
are hosting male campers, male counselors live in the cabins
with the boys and the female staff members live in the staff
cabin. Male staff members get to live in the staff cabin when
we host female campers. Each cabin holds approximately 20
campers and 2 counselors. The overall ratio of campers to
staff is 5 to 1. This low ratio allows us to ensure that
each camper gets the individual attention they need. Each
staff member gets one evening off each week and 24 hours off
each weekend.
