Campers

Elks Camp Barrett averages approximately 100 campers per week. Campers arrive on Sunday and leave the following Saturday. Children range in age from 9 to 13 years olds. The children and their parents pay no camping fees for the week at camp. The local Elks Lodges and the MD, DE, D.C. Elks Association pay the camping costs.

How to Sign up

To enroll your child in camp, you will need to contact your local Elks Lodge as the lodges sponsor all campers. To search for a lodge near you, Click here to go to the Elks USA lodge search page and enter your city state and zip code. Camp applications are not processed nor maintained at the camp itself.

Location and Facilities

Elks Camp Barrett is located in Crownsville, Maryland. We are located west of Annapolis (the capitol of Maryland), 30 miles south of Baltimore and 30 miles east of Washington D.C. It is situated on approximately 188 acres. There are 6 cabins, a large dining hall with Director's Office, two pavilions and the Resident Maintenance Manager/Custodian's house on the premises. There are facilities for playing soccer, baseball/softball, football, volleyball and archery. There is a large swimming pool, a riflery range, and a basketball court. There are out door campsites, hiking paths and fire rings for skits and group gatherings. Paved walkways and bathroom facilities for the handicapped are also available.

7:30 A.M. Wake up & Cabin clean up 2:30 P.M. Swimming
8:00 A.M. Flag Raise/ Breakfast 3:30 P.M. Snow Cones
9:00 A.M. Cabin Clean up 4:45 P.M. Country Group Meetings
9:45 A.M. Arts and Crafts 5:15 P.M. Flag Lowering/ Dinner
10:45 A.M. Nature Hike 7:00 P.M. Evening Program (Campfire, talent show, etc.)
11:45 P.M. Lunch 8:30 P.M. Shower
12:45 P.M. Rest 9:30 P.M. Bedtime
1:30 P.M. Rifle Range or Archery 10:00 P.M. Lights out
